Pastoral Profile

Our Church

  • Currently, our congregation has 66 active members. Our average Sunday attendance is 110-120. The congregation is a diverse group of ages, from mature members to families with older kids to  young families and young adults. Our desire is to be spiritual contributors, not just spiritual consumers. Nearly half of the congregation actively and regularly serve in various ministries of the church.
  • We strive to be Spirit-led, both corporately and also as individuals. As a congregation, we strive to provide structure to our services and be prepared for the duties of specific ministries, but those practices are founded upon our desire to be Spirit-led, attentive, and obedient to what the Lord has planned.
  • BFC is a conservative church with a Montana-casual, relaxed atmosphere. Our Sunday morning services follow a standard format of worship, fellowship, and topical- or expository-style teaching, followed by a prayer and response time. We consider our church a family and strive to build healthy relationships with each other that encourage and sharpen our faith. Woven throughout our history is a consistent emphasis on prayer.
  • Also since the founding of the church, Bigfork Chapel has been committed to giving and supporting missions both around the state in Native American communities and across the US, as well as World Missions.
  • Pastoral Team & Staff: we have a full time Family Pastor, a part time Associate/Worship Pastor, and a part time Office Manager.
  • Active participants in the Montana Ministry Network

Leadership Qualities

  • An area of strength for BFC is in our authentic relationships with each other, doing life together, and we need a pastor who will embrace, contribute, and be an intentional leader in this area.
  • Preaching: communicate the Word of God thoroughly and effectively, teaching the full gospel with an emphasis on life application to transform us and build the kingdom
  • Spirit-led Administration & Organization: well-attuned to the tension between and need for both preparation, organization, and planning for the future as well as sensitivity to the Holy Spirit’s leading and the freedom to respond, encouraging others to do the same.
  • What we do, we do well. As a church, we want a pastor to help us continue to grow in our current areas of ministry while expanding & improving other areas, such as discipleship and evangelism. A pastor with a variety of ministry experience would be a great resource.
    • Current Ministry Leaders in the following areas: Children, Youth, Missions, Worship, Women, Prayer, Life Groups, Hospitality, Security
